Hello everybody!
I’m from Italy, Genoa: I happily own since 2008 a Land Rover Freelander 2 2,2 Td4, 112kW, VIN SALFA24C18H100587, A/T.
Because of an acid leakage from a defective battery, I have got the bracket of the control cable of the auto gearshift that went nearly corroded and it needs to replace.
I cannot find the spare part (LR006378) here in my Country: they say it is not available any longer. Is there any chance you give me an help? Does it mean I have to replace my “beloved” Freelander? My JLR Service Garage is supporting me very well but they say they cannot do anything in this issue.
Any help will be highly welcome

Do you have a breakers that my have one? Common sense isn't very common.

Hi mate, what do you mean by "breacker"? if you mean "car scaper", yes I made a deep work of investigation personally and by little help from my friends...but no news at all. Do you have any close to you that might have this part? I f so please let me know or contact me via pm.

Many thanks, mate: I had a quick reply... the part is not in stock! It's unbeliveable such a "recent" model of car has parts that run out of production. I'm starting climing to JLR Italy

I found a second hand part from a guy breaking his own FL2 eventually; I paid it three times a new one but, you know...
In the mean time JLR Italy, on behalf of the UK mother branch, officially told me to forget to have this part because it was fitted on very old units... I went checking and... they are liyng! Check your own FL2, up to 2014 and you'll see that the bracket of the control cable of the automatic gearshift is the same...




Checked at Ford as well, as the part has stamped on the back




I got the same answer: the part is in the list, but to be ordered in Germany without any delivery time...
