POWER STEERING CHF

What are the implications of over filling the Power Steering Bottle.

Like an idiot i filled it to the brim this morning. i have drained it but it is still above the max line.

The level goes up and down a bit in normal use. I guess if you fill it to the top it might spill over as I don't think it's an air tight cap , unlike the coolant cap which takes pressure. Jules

I think power steering fluid expands when it get hot so it might overflow. Search ebay for a “hand primer pump 8mm bulb type” and some 8mm internal clear tube that will fit and drain to the correct level.

The free option is to use a syringe the medical centre gives you for samples. Might take a little longer but hey it’s free.

If the reservoir is the same as the i6 you can just pull the bottle up off the mounting bracket, there’s enough flexible pipe to enable pouring a bit of fluid out the filler. Regards

Power Steering 8mm pipe

Well a 6mm piece of pipe did the trick.
