United Kingdom 2014 Freelander 2 SD4 XS Auto Loire Blue

On my annual trip to Kenya, this year in an old Mitsubishi Pajero I had big chunky tyres on 16" wheels and just ran the thing in rear wheel drive everywhere which was perfectly adequate. Last year I did use lo range and 4WD on sand at one point in a Toyota Fortuna but in reality if you have appropriate tyres then all the traction control stuff is redundant. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

The Mitsubishi Montero is on my list for certain.

The question is, Does the FL2 have a pretty close to low ratio first gear?

The FL2 has a low enough 1st gear. Auto is best; from command shift select 1st. It will cope with all but "extreme" off road, including rock crawling - but watch ground clearance.
