Yes, You will notice a drop in MPG over the winter months. My last 2 diesels dropped around 4mpg during the winter months. |

Is the fuel really that bad? i've got rid of the shogun as it was averaging 21.. i am seriously after a freelander about 2008. but i owuld love to see 35+ average... Or is that just never gonna happen

The longer the journey the less effect cold weather has on consumption, the initial warm up is where the fuel drop off is at its worse, if your commute is mainly m way and you can hold about 50 to 60mph but not above 70 on the speedo you should make the near 40MPG or even better. my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis

I have a 2008 TD4 and do a 38 mile round trip daily mostly “A” road all the way with a little bit of town driving I get 39+ mpg |

I do lots of very short journeys, car is hardly warm on return and fortnightly longer runs of 80 or so miles to visit relatives and overall get about 31 mpg from a 2010 SD4 HSE Auto.
