I don't know how it is set up on the diesel engine. Slipping fan belt or stuffed bearing possibly the problem. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

I had a problem where the aircon sounded like it had a rattle in it when it was turned on and disappeared when off . Turned out the system needed a top up of gas which fixed it. |

My last Freelander used to have a rumble with the aircon on it turned out to be the radiator fan bearings.

Many thanks, I first thought the noise was the engine and didn't realise it wasn't until I turned off the climate and it went quiet. I'll try a re-gas first, if that doesn't work, AC pump clutch and belt idler next. Thanks again |
