Hi All. I have a freelander 2 2007. My wife finds it uncomfortable to drive. She is only 5ft (ish). With the seat in a position to drive she's too close to the wheel and mirrors are useless. Steering wheel in as far as it will go.

Does anyone know what the driving position is like on the Evoque for a vertically challenged driver

my first ever FL2 and I did keep it longer than most other cars!
But its now gone way up Norf

My experience is that the FL2 is much easier to see out of than many of the more modern cars.
It seems that the current trend is to decrease the glass area and lower the seating position.

I much prefer the FL2 'command' driving position. (and I am about 5ft 11in)

I would suggest trying a smaller car from a non-LR make. FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011)
FL2 Metropolis SD4 Auto 2014 2017- (16k - 77k+ miles) (MY2015)

(Expensive, but Trouble/Worry free - hopefully?)

My wife is 5’4” and says she cannot see over the bonnet on our Evoque. Moan, moan, moan......  Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto
Evoque SD4 Dynamic Lux Auto
Present: Audi A3 S Line.

My wife has an Evoque and I use my Freelander 2 as my runaround.
We both find the Freelander to be more comfortable than the Evoque.

As for 'swap the wife'...don't tempt me

She can drive it ok but is too close to the steering wheel. I was thinking if the wheel went in further than the freelander she would manage.

Looks like back to a KIA. That's what she had before we bought the freelander.

I bought the freelander to Drive to Spain (where we now reside) as it is LHD. We sold her 2015 Kia Sportage.

Might look at the Sorento..see if she is more comfortable in that

If you're about 5ft 11in.. That makes you probably a whole foot taller than my mrs

Have you considered fitting pedal extenders?

Surprisingly I've just been looking at the extenders. They would need to be easy to remove and put back on as we both drive the car. How would these stand on an MOT ?

I seem to remember them solving this on Top Gear with a coupe of Pringle Tubes.
