The Haldex AWD system is used in quite a number of different manufacturers' cars, you must surely be able to find someone if there is no reliable independent service agent around one that is able to service it?

Fairly certain the gen 4 haldex pump can be removed in situ, unless you are unlucky enough to have the large input flange, in that instance the input flange also has to be removed! Good luck with it, Nick (Now Sold). 2008 Freelander 2 (Nazca Sand) SE TD4 Auto. Statutory write off & on WOVR for hail damage but still road legal. 171037Km as of 09/05/22 Superchips Bluefin Flash Nanocom Evo II (also sold) |

Gen 4 serviced, my09 105K miles, oil in pretty good order really and no metal bits evident, bit of friction material suspended in the oil ( brown flakes in photo, photos make it look worse than it was really) and after cutting up the old filter it looks like it would have been ok for quite some time, but its done now.

If you keep all the tires of the same size, wear and pressure and you don't floor it during starts in corners, this is how it's supposed to look and last. |

The Volvo part no. for Haldex oil is now 31367940. I paid £17.76 (VAT inc) for a litre. |
