I recently bought a 9Kg Samsung to replace a 20 year old I-forget-what in which the drum bearings had collapsed completely and which wasn't worth even attempting to repair. The Samsung has so far proved excellent - quiet, efficient and with a solid, well-made feel to it. So here's another recommendation for Samsung. Only downside is the annoying jingles which the wife won't let me turn off!

We changed to a 9kg LG with “direct drive” drum motor about 8 years ago, never had a moments problem with it......and yes it “jingles” at the end of a cycle also  Regards
