Thanks David, I still not sure I understand fully what happened.
Maybe a silly question, how did you know it was not changing gear, was the torque converter working, or was it locked up.
Display is only command shift mode, or were you or had you been using command shift to get engine braking, or something, beforehand.
If the Autobox believes that it cannot control the gear changes, I understand that its default is to use fuzzy logic to select a gear and allow you to drive by refusing to allow lock up of clutch (torque converter). If it was a transient fault then ignition off/on will normally reset it.
Are you sure that your car hasn't stored an error code that's waiting to explain everything.
PS I haven't had time to check manual, but this is how most modern traditional autoboxes work. FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011)
