If the wire is shredded inside the protective silver layer then it's an issue as a lot of voltage passes through the cable, still, it may be repairable, you just don't know long it will last. The receptacle at the end of said cable looks pretty mangle however, likely during removal or someone trying to install/force it on the wrong ballast and bulb. Not sure if that's repairable or even removable if you were successful in installing it. |

Anybody have any ideas on what I can do with the old headlight pictured, or is it just good for throwing away? |

Personally, I sure as heck would not toss it.............I have not pulled my assembly since last winter when I switched to better illumination but I am sure it's salvageable to someone handy. Again, it looks like the HID and the receptacle end of the cable are FUBAR from your pics. |
