We have had our FL2 2011 SD4 HSE for a month now and we love it, about 5 days ago we had the dreaded battery drain, we noticed it has a brand new battery fitted, so i charged it up and away we go. now 5 days later the same problem, go to start and click and warning on dashboard HDC fault, i have charged it up and await tomorrow. when we purchased this vehicle (privately) we noticed the new battery and also the blue tooth was not working, so we contacted the previous owner who said "never had a fault mate" but we are wondering if this did have the fault and hence the blue tooth has been switched off (not checked yet), i have purchased another Earth lead to do the earth lead mod. Before i get out meters etc i was wondering if anybody had fitted one of those 6w solar chargers, yes we double click the locking, yes the lights are not on auto and yes we turn radio off should not have to on a vehicle like this but we do. my nearest landrover specialist is Promec4x4 near cardiff south wales, i may have to pop it into them to have a look at, but would like to try the solar trickle charger first.

Our traction control fault was caused by a low battery which in turn was caused entirely by...

... A knackered door lock. Fitted a new lock and problem cured. Touch wood, it hasn’t been back since.

Have you linked a phone to the car ?

This is another known drain issue when the car does not unlink at shut down and the Bluetooth system keeps looking for the phone, it often happens if the phone was in use when the ignition is turned off (been there and had this happen to me). MY13 HSE Lux Santorini Black Gone

Have you tried removing the fuse for the radio, assuming Bluetooth and radio are all in one unit, to see if the problem goes away?
We have a issue with the radio illumination staying on when the ignition is off/car locked, which was draining the battery as the car isn't used everyday, so Bodged that by fitting a switch to turn off the power to the radio when not needed.

If it's happening regularly then removing the fuse you suspect might be worth a try first, cheap and effective.
The small solar chargers are ok, covering normal running drain of alarm, clock etc, but not sure about anything higher,
how often you use the car might make a difference to its effectiveness.

you need to check its charging,the rac can do a full check if you are a member.

Hu Jules i assume you mean the battery?? yes it is correct, but any idea on the best battery to be fitted to these? ie biggest ah etc

In answer to your question on the Solar panel - I use a small panel and this is plugged into the centre consul rear 12v plug.
I often do not use my FL2 for periods of 3-4 weeks, the car always starts fine, so I think its doing its job.
But you have to plug it into the rear plug as this stays constantly live.
On that point - do you have anything plugged into that socket - USB plug? as that will drain the battery over a few days.

suckfish thank you for your comment and yes there is a usb double socket thing in rear port, nothing plugged into it though,

I would not leave the usb charger in the rear socket - I have had 2 fail on me and they start to burn/melt.
If your going to use them plug them into the front socket which is only live with the ignition on.
That way you hopefully notice when/if they fail.
Regarding the power draw - they would not pull that much 5-10milli Amps. So about 1amp in 200 hours.
