Blue Dash - Alpaca Leather

A fried of mine has just picked up a 57 plate Stornaway (sorry dunno what trim level) and it has all Alpaca Leather seats. He made some mention about the seats being retrimmed - some blue in there somewhere - not sure.

But the dash top remains Dark Blue whilst everything else in the car is either Alpaca, Black, Polished Metal trim.

It does look ever so ever so slightly odd - does this make sense to people? Also any thought on how tricky it might be to replace a dash top? Confused Steve N | 21MY Defender (on order) | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

thats my colour combo you .......... Evil or Very Mad

I find the blue dash, (when set with the blue in the seats and doors) quite a nice combo, with the dash been lighter, the cabin is lighter too.

When been in black trimmed cars with black dash it's quite dark and gloomy Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

It's my colour too !!

Whilst it wouldn't have been my preferred choice ( my cars a 10 month old ex LR vehicle) it grows on you and I think it goes well with the exterior Izmir Blue

Sorry about that - but coming from the D3 world where two tone seats just don't exist it does look odd. The (new) all alpaca leather combo is Cool I nearly had the same on my second D3 but couldn't get it with Zermatt Neutral

So I take it no-ones ever tried to swap a dash top then Confused Steve N | 21MY Defender (on order) | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

Nope problem, everybody has there own tastes

I only got my car back from the dealers today, but haven't had chance to look, but to be honest o wouldn't know where to start.

Could 10forcash or The Large One throw any light on it, I sure there must be a LR guide somewhere to look at Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

I've PM'ed The Large One for a price - I'm guessing this will be an absolute stonker/stinker (delete as appropriate) of a job, so when he comes back with a silly money quote I can recommend he "lives with it" Thumbs Up Steve N | 21MY Defender (on order) | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

Could one of those dash repair company's respray the dash to preferred colour Idea

or have it covered in leather or similar Idea

Though i would have thought all of the above would be more hassle than putting up with it Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

I have the black dash top, but with Alpaca leather everything else is Alpaca so it is not so dark, but I did look at an HSE in Stornaway with black interior and it looked very dark. Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. The black interior still has a beige roof lining, and pillars from the window line up. That stops it getting too gloomy inside, even with the rainroof curtains closed.

I always cringe whenever I see a RRS (eg) with white leather seats and carpets - I just know that that is one landy that is never going to see mud Sad
