Service costs

Seem to recollect there being a schedule of annual service works and costs on here but can't find it Sad
Been quoted £455 by LR Indy for 6th annual service to include oil and filter changes (air, pollen, fuel) as well as brake fluid change.
Seems a lot, although does apparently reflect 3 hours work so that's accounting for a lot of the cost. Doing any of the work myself is unfortunately not an option.

I have been calling around for year 6 (B) service... the three main dealers I spoke with are all charging £390 plus £75 for brake fluid change. £465 all in so your Independent is not that competetive.

See here for Land Rover Fixed Price Servicing & Maintenance and here for the thread I very recently started: Six Year Service.

Or just get your local garage to do it for £250 all including vat . Ive lost all confidence in the dealers and so called specialists.
Just had my fuel gauge fault repaired (common erratic reading problem) £140 against £675 at LR main dealer. Showed me how they did it, all this nonsense about taking the tank off, it’s Not necessary .

Contacted local main dealer and their prices were only slightly more than my Indy; they're only a few miles up the road as well so would have been more convenient. Indy called main dealer with a view to establishing why their prices were now comparable with their own and it seems main dealer may have reduced labour costs for 'older vehicles'. Indy has since reduced the price offered for my service, happy bunny.

Excellent news! Competent competition is always a good thing for the end user.

Year 8 (B) service at 43,000 miles now due …

… local Land Rover Dealer, Chesterfield Vertu/Farnell/Gordon Lamb or whatever it calls itself these days want £430.01 this time for a standard B service. I guess that the shortage of new cars means the workshop has to generate more ££££ Laughing

Think it’ll be going to Maltings 4x4 at £269 - they also update online service history.
