Hi guys my problem is when I press the starter button all I get is a click and the dash goes blank. When this happens I can't remove the key. After a while it's as if it has reset itself and after trying this a few times it'll start. The fl2 is 2007 .

It sounds like battery or the earth to me.

The battery was replaced 4 weeks ago and the earth strap removed and cleaned up at this time but I'll have another look at it thanks.

Ok may not be that then but the symptoms were all there,I still think it’s an electrical problem, must be annoying for you. Is it the earth on the car or an extra one that’s been fitted ?

You’ve had the earth lead cleaned but have you checked for resistance through the lead, especially while flexing it. One of our members had a problem where the lead looked fine externally but it was corroded internally, caused all kinds of odd messages and expense but was finally cured by fitting the original second earth lead between battery and starter which led to the discovery of the corroded lead.

It's the earth strap from the battery to the bulk head and yes it's a total pain in the ***.But when I get home later I'll have another look at it again and see where to go there thanks.
