Hello gents, I have recently thought that my engine wasn't spinning over too briskly. I had a new battery fitted 18months ago and all was well, until just recently, the other day I got hold of the engine to battery earth lead just after starting the engine and it was noticeably warm. Today I made up a second earth lead and the problem went. Has anyone else had this phenomena? Incidentally, all the other leads from the battery are cold. Any ideas?

I had exactly the same problem with my C70 Volvo and a new earth lead, fitted by my local auto electricians, solved it. They said simply that the lead was faulty. You might find that just replacing the original lead might suffice.

The later FL2 have a second earth lead, I ran a piece of HO7 (welding cable) direct from the battery to the bell housing and the car never struggled to spin over quickly. Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her
