Evening folks, recently joined and have done the introduction so now onto the problems for you experts to shed some light hopefully

Rear end noise under acceleration, jacked up all four corners, checked wheel bearings all seem fine so run it up and sounds like rear diff, more noticeable on the over run/ deceleration assume as no road wheel load as they are off the ground.

So where is the best place to get one from, how much of a job to drop out and swop the unit over?
Reading all the posts on here seems like the haldex units give problems after diff change or bearings changed so is there a procedure for swopping out the haldrex so no issues arise?

Is it possible to do the pinion bearings is situ by just removing the haldrex unit.

Lastly, does anyone know anywhere in the northwest who could do the job without taking out a mortgage to pay for it
It is a 2010 sport on 76k and within the VIN range for the weaker front bearing.

Sorry for the long post just trying to weigh up my options as this motor was going to be sold so don’t want to spend a fortune but don’t want to sell with issues

Bell engineering in Worcestershire are the diff/haldex experts who can sell you what you need and will send parts to you that you could perhaps fit yourself ?Where in the Northwest are you in case there are other options closer to you.

at a guess yours will be a Gen 3 Haldex with it being a 2010 model

Bell are not really that far from the Northwest, quick hop down the M6... make a family day out of it as there is lots to do round the area while Austen does any work

No idea if gen 3 or 4 need to check, am away tomorrow so will check when am back, cheers
