Well, after contacting Paisley freight decided to try Simpson Transport instead!
http://www.simpsontransport.com/

3 reasons
1 Paisley required the 4 wheels to be palletised, including me doing pallet wrap and pallet straps, while the driver waited!
2 paisley were slightly more expensive than Simpsons
3 Simpson provide a door to door service not using other transport comapnies

Dealit with Nigel at Simpson, very helpful and friendly. even arranged to collect whilst i was out, unlike Paisley who would not provide even a morning or afternoon collection time. Simpson also contact delivery addresse to arrange drop off!
plus it all happend within 4 days

great result, thanks to all who offered advice and contacts

Strange how experiences differ:
Tried contacting Simpson by email - no reply to any of my contacts
Finally rang them - twice the price of Paisley!
And could only offer a 10 day possible window to do the job

well I rang them and spoke to Nigel, who was very helpful, the 10 day window is standard, but in fact they arrived 3 days after the booking date. they rang to confirm arrival time, and even offered to collect from drive if there was no one in! delivery took place within 2 days of collection and they rang ahead to ensure he was in
I had a quote from paisley which was more expensive than simpson, and involved palletising the 4 wheels as and when lorry arrived , paisley would not offer an eta slot, just a day between 08.00 and 18.00 if I recall correctly, and I would have had to secure wheels on pallett.
It may be that for smaller wheels their price is more competitive but for freeland (ie 4*4 wheels, they are not cheap!)
I like the fact that simpson don't use other hauliers to handle to items, I guess its horeses for courses
