Tyre Wear

I know this has been discussed on other threads, but I'm interested to hear if there's anything new on the subject.
My FL2 is coming up to 15,000 miles and I notice the tyres are looking worryingly worn, only about 1mm above the wear dimple.
All my previous cars have managed at least 25k, does 4wd make this big a difference. I thought we had an ''on demand'' 4wd system and we where usually just a front wheel drive vehicle.

I promise you I'm not heavy footed and am averaging 40 mpg.

I was moaning recently that my rears were shot after just 27,000, although kwik s*it reckoned I had another couple of thousand to use - 15,000 seems very low compared to some on here.

40mpg is an excellent return and better than mine at around 35, but you can still effect tyre wear by the way you drive even if you percieve that to be conservative........so I was told Smile FL2 TD4 XS Santorini

My car has done 15,500 miles now and the front tyres are on about 4mm now. I hope i'll get about 20,000 miles. Very dissapointing really. My Dad's FL2 is wearing the same. Maybe it's the tyres - Continental 4 x 4's. I've no idea how people get 40k + !! Gone - TD4 XS Auto, Sumatra Black, Mud flaps and side strips, clear indicators, private plate, privacy glass
