Castrol Edge Professional C1 5w-30 spec
Shell Helix Ultra Professional AF-L 5W-30
Mobil Super 3000 Formula C1 5W-30
TOTAL QUARTZ INEO C1 5W-30
TRIPLE QX Synplus (C1) Engine Oil - 5W-30 - 5ltr
Fuchs TITAN GT1 PRO C-1 5W-30 Fully Synthetic Engine Oil |
Comma Ecolife 5W-30 Motor Engine Oil FORD WSS-M2C934-B ACEA C1 Low SAPS ECL5L
Millers Oils XF Longlife C1 5w-30 Fully synthetic low SAPS

Is there a reason why you specifically want to use Castrol Magnatec 5W30 fully synthetic stop start ?
Have you already got some ?
If so, what does it say on the container ?
What does it say on the Castrol website ? Jules

Hi,

Just read that people were using it and from previous it states Castrol 5W30

From the list I think I will go for the Mobil Super 3000 as it seems to be readily available

Regards

Your Freelander will have a DPF if its a 2011 model, I just used Millers C1 oil on mine very good from all accounts, I use the Millers diesel additive and found it good so I was happy to use their oil, this link points you to a very good value place to get it from.

I thought all cars after 2009 had to have them fitted If your running with the older engine with the organ pipes then I think those did not have the DPF. 2014 Freelander 2 XS TD4

If it's a UK model then it will have a DPF.

I run on Millers Oils XF Longlife C1 5w-30 Fully synthetic low SAPS in a Freelander, used in my Volvo D5 all of its life,

I used it has a work car up until 170K, sold it to a mate and now its just coming up to 300K.

1st class oil on various sites under £30 for 5 lts, can also buy it in 1 lts cans

Richard

I didn't realise that getting a bottle of oil to top up my Freelander 2 would lead to so much confusion...................

Question:-

"Halfords Land Rover 5W-30 Oil
The Halfords Land Rover 5W-30 Oil is a fully synthetic, high performance, low SAPS oil. The Halfords Land Rover 5W-30 Oil is suitable for modern petrol and diesel vehicles - including those fitted with exhaust after-treatment units that require an ACEA C1 grade.
Halfords Land Rover 5W-30 Oil 2L Extra Info
Recommended for applications which require: JAGUAR LANDROVER STJR.03.5005; FORD WSS-M2C934-B; ACEA C1"

(This seems to be different to that shown in the handbook ...WSS-M2C913-B but that just confuses me even more) Big Cry

I recall other threads saying Halfords Oil is rebranded Comma.

I have a 2012 Freelander 2 Auto with a DPF - can I use Halfords LR Oil for top up purposes (if needed)?????

When I put mine in for a dealer service I usually find one of these in the footwell afterwards for topping up.
