If your car shuts down before it is completed then the update will restart at the point that it had got to, it does mean that the satnav is not available until the update is completed. I think that it also requires you to shut down at the end of the update so that it can get a clean restart with the new maps.

This was going to be another question - mine lives on the pavement so would have to be updated when driving and we don't really do more than an hour at any time, in normal use. Provided it restarts where it finished, will have to do it in stages I suppose, or leave it until we run out to Hereford in September.

Sid we are still waiting for the USB 2019/20 version to be released, I was originally told sometime in May but....

I have also seen that the Here website for Land Rover update has been unavailable for some maybe this is the reason why there has not been a release. The DVD 2019/20 version (same as the Suberu system) was release back in April

I received a similar reply.

The Here website has been down for a number of months which may indicate that they have a business problem hence the non-release.

Is LR supporting this version still ? I think the later models use a different software. MY13 HSE Lux Santorini Black Gone

My recent experience with the USB upgrade.

I asked about the latest upgrade but got the same answer as above so decided to buy now.

I ordered one from satnavmapupdate.co.uk. It took over a week to arrive and several emails to get the activation code. All good in the end but I do wish companies would communicate to their customers.

Decided to go for a drive rather than try the 'sit at home with battery charger and ignition on'. Made myself a big coffee and set off at 0800 hours on a Sunday morning. USB plugged in, inputted the activation code when asked.

0820 display finally moved from 0% to 5% and on it went. I'm just on 'cruise' at 50mph enjoying the best scenery that Scotland can offer.
At 50% I decided to head home and arrived back with 95% showing.
It finally finished at 11.05, three hours and five minutes.
You then have to remove the USB, switch off the motor and lock the car up for 15 minutes. (typical JLR precision)
Tried it later and it all works. Version 30.18.03 now showing.
Lots of little tweaks have been added since 2013.
I did lose my favourites though.
Any questions just ask

Gary.

Useful update Bugsy, thanks. My concern was that I'm not able to leave the car running, or on charge, where I live and so might end up never getting the update loaded - just the first section over and over again Wink However an earlier poster said that it picks up where it left off so might have to upload over several journeys or leave it until we head off for a break at the back end of September. Really want it in place for Europe next May, so no rush Smile
I'm presuming the USB stick goes in the slot in the centre console? Neutral

Yes it does.

The official 'blurb' says that provided you do not remove the 'memory stick' when stopping and starting it will carry on from where it left off.

Good luck 2013 SD4 Dynamic.

Driven to Wye Valley today, first chance to run the car for the time needed. Not sure it's uploaded properly though as the map is showing with the cars position but don't have the postcode destination and couple of other bits. It's also very slow, indeed reluctant, to move back to the previous screen. When I first connected my iPhone the contacts list didn't upload instantly so will see if it sorts itself out overnight otherwise will need to contact Satnavishop

I found a way into the HERE website last week, they are still only selling the 2018 files as the latest - Map data collected by HERE at the Q3/17.

So it looks like our satnav updates have been abandoned.

Here are links if anyone else wants to pursue the matter;
