shocks and springs 2007 hse

before I start, I MUST point out I am in the budget Freelander 2 driver range, not the wealthy end ie like the many on here who can go out and spend £16,000+ on a replacement model Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter

Apparently I have a broken spring on driver side FRONT, and a leaking shock on passenger side FRONT, I intend getting someone to do both items on both sides.

I would guess 80% on here will stipulate genuine parts etc, you get what you pay for etcetc.

So to the other 20%, any experience of going cut price?

1) Springs £23.76 EACH https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Front-Coil-Spri...4121159467 Thumbs Up

2) Shocks £35.29 EACH https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Shock-Absorber-...4014679291 Thumbs Up ITEM MAY DISAPPEAR AS 5 HOURS LEFT ON SALE

both items appear to be from the same company 'buyanycarpart' anyone ever had any dealings with them ?

Anyone out there know of any other 'sensible' prices for known brands (no way do I want to pay over £160 for one shocker Big Cry Big Cry ) 2017 SEAT Ateca 4drive 2.0 xcellence (May 2022 -

I'm not one to advocate genuine parts, especially for older models but cheap isn't always the best way forward as far as suspension goes.

I would be happy fitting any of these though & they are a forum sponsor.

BADGER51 excellent reply, thank you very much for that, are you one of these wizkids who can do it yourself ?

If yes, is it prudent to change the bearings at the top of the shockers while its all apart? Idea

Having looked at that schematic diagram, I NEVER knew the rear springs were different depending on whether you have a sunroof or not Thumbs Up 2017 SEAT Ateca 4drive 2.0 xcellence (May 2022 -

Yes, having been an aircraft engineer for fifty odd years, I do all my own work, as long as I am still able!

Personally I would change the top mounts & the spring pads as well.

Cheers,

As Nick said, have the spring pads on hand to change them, mine were Censored . well and truly.

I didn't change the top mount, couldn't see any reason as they looked new. It's just a plate.

Not sure if I'd go budget, I like my suspension to do what its supposed to. Having said that price isn't always a guide.

Asking on here is a good idea though.
