Scotland 2008 Freelander 2 TD4 XS Manual Zermatt Silver
Leather Quality

Noticed the other day that the quality of leather used on the centre panel of the rear seat (XS, black leather) looks like it's off the ba's of some scrawny auld tup, not the back of some handsome big bull. It looks and feels thin and stretchy, unlike the rest of the seats. Anyone else noticed this variation in quality?

Also, one of the covers for the auxilliary power sockets I received the other day from the dealers (the car didn't have any when we picked it up) has disappeared already and I don't think her ladyship would bother prising it out. Do they have a habit of disappearing into thin air and is this why there appears to be a new design?

Ireland 2009 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Baltic Blue

Hi, Bluemacs.

I was advised not to buy the leather factory fitted but to have the seats covered by a specialist.

Yours could be a common problem as he seems to do good business.

If this is a private conversation betwen MudBug and Bluemacs, Im sorry to interupt with my 1p's worth Shocked

However MB, you may find that the leather panel you are refering to is in fact "Pleather" (leather look-a-like plastic) which most of the seat covering is made of. I will have a look at mine later today to compare.

It states in the Freely brochure that it is only the seat facings that are made of real leather. As BM mentioned the best thing to do is to have the seats recovered by a specialist, then you get 100% REAL LEATHER seats which is also cheaper than the original LR pleather. 2007 Freelander 2 HSE TD4 Manual with Premium Pack & Moonroof.

It's the seat sides and backs that are Vinyl, the fronts are leather. Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Alpine DVD - Privacy -Evoque 20" Dynamic Wheels and more to come.........

United Kingdom 2013 Freelander 2 SD4 Dynamic Auto Santorini Black

I collected my Freelander on Tuesday - used - 25000 miles on the clock.

The leather is unmarked - even the driver's seat looks new even after that mileage. The drivers seat in my last car (leather) looked a bit worse for wear after only 13000 miles.

Land Rover leather looks good to me.
