Was there any sign of a Plug In (PHEV) version?

No, not that I saw. There was a heavily camoflagued DS parked up outside Gate 4, which was presumably the facelift model coming later on in the year, but I have already seen the front end of that unmasked on test the other month when I was heading out to Gaydon from Banbury. Assuming that it was the finished article and not a further disguise to throw the chasing pack off the scent, it has a pair of full Discovery signature headlights.

We shall see......

Apparently, the only thing carried over from the L538 to L551 are the door hinges. I wonder if the same will happen with L550 as well?

A DS PHEV is definitely coming, when? who knows, but the only way to get through EU7 emissions will be with some form of electrification. 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200

the PHEV range is quite low IIRC - about 200 miles maximum I think so I couldn't get from Nottingham to Newquay on a single charge, I would have to pull over somewhere overnight and recharge. And how many charging points are currently in Cornwall ??

I don't do huge amounts of town driving, so the PHEV range for urban is irrelevant to me regardless of the manufacturer.
The MHEV wont require charging as it will effectively charge itself.

PHEV has a 2 litre petrol engine as well! It is a hybrid so has very big battery in boot that you can charge by plugging and it will charge itself (as the MHEV does) but you just fill it with petrol and keep going Wink

You're getting slightly confused thinking of it as a BEV (battery electric vehicle) these are the I-Pace, Tesla etc...

MHEV is mild hybrid which harvests energy normally lost when slowing down and stores it to assist the engine. It also allows the engine to switch off as you slow down.

PHEV has a 2 litre petrol engine in the front and a big battery in the boot...

BEV is electric only ...

Yeah I know it has a petrol engine Rolling Eyes

Not every PHEV has a 2.0 engine, JLR are looking at a 1.5 3 cylinder ingenium. 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200

learning new info about electric every day.... but then ive not really looked into it as the PHEV/MHEV/BEV cars that I like are way beyond my budget at this time.

Rolling Eyes Yeah I know about the 3 cylinder but you had originally replied:

It's good that some are saying that it's a step in the right direction with all these improvements but sorry it's a NO from me purely down to ride height!!

Something must be wrong with my old mans outlander PHEV as it can drive on electric only. 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200
