Hi everyone, finally getting a freelander next Wednesday after years of yearning. It's a Metrolopis with full landrover service history,40k on clock. Question is, do i buy the warrantee for 2 years and do I keep up the servicing with landrover. Thanks in advance.

Absolutely take the warranty especially if it’s the LR Approved if you’re buying through an LR dealer. My SE is the same year, similar mileage and full LRSH. Just had the turbo fail without warning. All sorted with the warranty, avoiding a £1500 bill. It’s already paid for itself.

Just out of interest how much did you pay for the car? I have the same car in red. Do it now ! Your a long time dead !!

Is it the LR warranty or a 3rd party one. LR used approved 2 warranty is included in the cars purchase price.

If it's a 3rd party warranty, have a good read of whats covered before you part with your money  2007 TD4 XS The work horse that earns its up keep

RobLR - failed at 39500. Had been going great then all of a sudden the dreaded “restricted performance “ message. Car was still driveable but required revved to get any sort of speed.

Land Rover Warranty is definitely worth having and if you are having Land Rover Dealer Servicing it is worth extending the warranty as long as you can. Think insurance policy.

The FL2 is quite a complicated car and really needs to be looked after. I think it deserves to be kept in full working order to get the most benefit from the ownership.

Like most modern cars, it is probably dangerous to allow it to be run cheaply as an old banger.

The SD4 Auto is the nicest choice.

I have never paid for a dealer service on any car but the FL2 could be the first. I have about 16 months on the Approved Warranty left and will definitely look into what LR can offer at that point. Peace of mind.

Thanks guys, well impressed with this sd4!! Better than I'd imagined and loving it. Took a years warranty out on it..thanks for the advice fellow Freelanders!
