It was only a matter of time........they closed Warley head office recently and it won’t be long before the last Ford facility (Dunton R&E Centre) goes the same way, oh guess what Belgium, Germany, Spain and Turkey are doing fine Regards

But at least we have “taken back control”, whatever tangible benefit that might actually give us |

Maybe if we had left when we should have instead of all these delaying tactics by so called democratic political parties all this might have been sorted but we'll never know.

There is a possibility the plant may be taken over by Ineos (Projekt Grenadier). But don't hold your breath - all their development work has gone to Germany so far. In a way it makes sense for Ineos to use a UK plant as they are UK based, but on the other hand they hope to sell around the world, and most countries will have a better trade deal with the EU than with the UK if B****t goes ahead. Plus they will be using BMW engines, so assembly somewhere in E Europe has to be the favourite. Ex AA Series III LWB Safari - Gone

We built quite a few cars down under. On the whole they were well built. Just one problem, we were building the wrong cars so could never sell enough to make it worthwhile.

Perhaps you could point me to a single automotive manufacturer that said that “Brexit will be fine, just as long as it’s delivered on time”. It’s just that I’ve not found any yet. |

Think I will just leave it there as we were discussing a single plant not the whole automotive industry If it wasn't so bad it'd be funny.

There will be plenty of jobs picking spuds for the Ford boys when we send all the Poles back after we leave the euro zone, they voted to leave in there masses in the Welsh valleys |

Ford wanted to close Bridgend years (and I mean many years) ago, they also had a (tentative) plan to move engineering development at Dunton to Germany and design at Dunton to the Mazda design centre in Japan, this was 10 years ago at least, don’t ask how I know just believe me......I got out almost 7 years ago now on an early retirement scheme, dodged the bullet there for sure!
