Looking for a bit of technical know-how.....

When driving I'm getting a bit of sensation of something not quite right, a bit of a flywheel effect, plus when I turn corners there's a grinding rubbing dry noise.

My local independent LR garage said it was ok to drive and it has been. He said if it gets worse, I would need a new front diff, but it's not the whinning noise other folk have mentioned, nor is the acceleration affected.

Any ideas what it might be ???
