According to the information that I have F29 is not used

I think that your information has a typographical error

From the wiring diagram I see the following

Battery (+) ---> F17 ---> F6

If F17 is broke you will have no voltage at F6

Did you check to see if you have battery voltage at F6?

F17 is in the engine compartment hidden behind a panel

See pictures in this thread https://www.freel2.com/forum/topic30025-15.html

Location of F29 is shown under the cover for the fuse box

And you can see on my LR2 F29 is not there

Did you ever find F29? It's supposed to be in the passenger fuse box and it's definitely used, it's even shown on the lid once you take it out. Except it does not seem to be in the box... MY2011, TD4 Auto, Xenon headlights, fog lamps DRLs, sunroof, tinted windows, almond electric seats w/ lumbar support, leather steering wheel w/ audio controls, dog/luggage guard, ambient lights, flush Whispbars, Mantec sump&tank guards, Xtrons Head Unit

Thank you, p_gill!

I’ll check the boot fuse, that may be a culprit as welll, thanks for the hint. The F29 referred in the manual though is definitely not in the central junction box. I’ve found it in the manual under the passenger fuse box, and it’s even shown on the lid of the passenger fuse box. Trouble is (by the look of the drawing on the lid), I think it’s not actually IN the box, but rather next to it and I have no idea where to look. I’ll post a picture tomorrow (late here now) to show better what I mean.

Cheers! MY2011, TD4 Auto, Xenon headlights, fog lamps DRLs, sunroof, tinted windows, almond electric seats w/ lumbar support, leather steering wheel w/ audio controls, dog/luggage guard, ambient lights, flush Whispbars, Mantec sump&tank guards, Xtrons Head Unit

No problem

Hopefully you can find it and let all of us know where to look in the future.

Does anything else not work?

- Sunroof
- heated seats
- glove box light
- Hazzards
- Nav
- blower
- Terrain response
- HDC
- Power seats
- Power door locks
- power windows
- cruise control
- instrument cluster
- door lock and unlock
- power mirrors
- cigarette lighter sockets
- anything????

For reference according to the the wiring diagram

BJB - Battery Junction Box (Engine compartment)
CJB - Central Junction Box (Passenger foot well)
AJB - Auxiliary Junction Box (Luggage area)

Here is the current path - the Head unit seems to have two powers and two grounds (I'm not sure why)

- Battery (+)
- BJB F21 60 (Amps) fuse in battery junction box
- CJB F6 (15 Amps) (Audio Head Unit)
- AJB FD6 (10 Amps) (Audi Head Unit second power source?)
- Chassis Ground G2D114-1
- Chassis Ground G6D139-1 (Shared with Glove box light, does the light work?)

Good Luck

Paul

Hi p_gill,
Thanks for the detailed reply! Everything else works, and I’ve discovered something else, on top - it looks like I have a loose connection somewhere. My (rudimentary!) understanding is that the head-unit is always powered, and it receives some sort of a signal (can-bus, maybe?) when to start. And I seem to have an imperfect connection on the path of this signal, which triggers the head-unit to either not start properly, or go to stand-by at random times. I was thinking that the elusive F29 could be to blame. All I did so far was to snap a photo of the passenger footwell fuse box lid (my car is a LHD, in case that matters in any way), which I’m attaching below. This clearly shows F29, and also seems to indicate that it’s not actually in the box, but somewhere next to it. Any ideas?

The other thing I’ve noticed is two brown wires going up to some sort of a joint, next to the fuse box. Pic attached below, as well. Could that be a fuse? Tried to unclip the assembly and have a better look, no luck though.

Thanks a lot for any ideas! MY2011, TD4 Auto, Xenon headlights, fog lamps DRLs, sunroof, tinted windows, almond electric seats w/ lumbar support, leather steering wheel w/ audio controls, dog/luggage guard, ambient lights, flush Whispbars, Mantec sump&tank guards, Xtrons Head Unit

F29 location

I found F29 whilst investigating a similar problem. It is one of those little black connectors above the fuse box. I took the glove box out which made it much easier to access. Mine had 3 cables going in, 1 red and 2 blue/brown. It opens at the the top to give access to the 15A fuse.

Having this same problem. Can't locate it and have been looking all up behind the glove box. Phoned local LR garage... no joy there apart from them trying to sell me a new audio voltage module for £500.

Does anyone have any more ideas of exactly where to find it as struggling to find it.

I don't appear to have the silver box shown on the photo above. I have a 59 plate model FL2
