Knock at rear. Trailing arm bushes?

I have a suspension knock and squeak from rear when on rough roads.

I've been underneath and checked things identified in other threads but can find nothing wrong, apart from some possible movement in trailing arm bushes.
If I grasp arm and twist against Bush there is some movement, but not sure how much there should be and if this is problem.
Should I be able to flex bushes with simply arm strength?

I'm assuming I shouldn't, but wanted to check before buying parts.

Also, is it 'easy' to change just bushes.
Do I need press or anything to get out of arm?
Is it easier to buy new arm complete?

TIA Andy

I'm interested to know the answer to this question too. I have no knocking or squeaking from my car but i did happen to notice the other day that there is some movement when you twist the trailing arm. It's quite "squishy". It might be normal?

Hoping it's an easy fix, but could also look at leaking shock or handbrake pads for knocking... just to add to the list of places to look

Though we have no major knocking i have noticed a fair amount of side ways wobble so taking this oppertunity to trial some poly bushes.

I shall do this in stages and learn as i go, likely all documented already...

Rear, Forward Track Arm, Inner and Outer Bush (both are the same) on this one. Look for 1CB on the link

Parts in my sack ready for work tomorrow to get the old shells pushed out.

Small update, the bushes press out relativley easy using a socket slightly smaller then the original bush shell and a spacer on the other side.
Very limited time and enthusiasm today. Really must take up smoking and redbull again Smile

Andy,

Does your car have a towbar fitted? Mine has an aftermarket towbar where the towball and attachment slide into the towbar.

This type may have a tad bit of movement and may start to rattle on bad road surfaces.
