England 2011 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Santorini Black

Do Landrover a techincal help line that could bottom out this feature?

I wonder how many other features there are that are not mentioned in the handbook.

England 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Manual Baltic Blue

I think that Dick is right that it is speed related. Having seen it mentioned on a previous thread, I used it once when reversing my caravan into the open fronted barn it lives in. Access to this is through a long narrow gap between two buildings into the corner of a small yard, then diagonally across the yard into the barn - uphill. With a 26 foot towed length van this is very tight and on thisccasions I got confused as to where the front wheels were pointing. Embarassed My other half running round shouting incomprehensible direction didn't help either.
Selected mud and ruts and on came the wheels display. It then stayed on while I completed the manouvre. Helped quite a bit actually - I'm abit more practiced now Whistle He who dies with the most tools wins!

Mine does it in Sand Mode... Very useful on the soft sand on beaches. Especially when you need to reverse down a dune, you can tell which direction the front wheels are pointing.

Great Feature

United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Auto Baltic Blue

I noticed this a time ago, but never in Normal mode. It only seems to come on when the wheels are nearing the limit of turning, and then disappears when they go back to somewhere near straight ahead.

I cannot understand why the display is not permanently on when any mode other than Normal mode is chosen, as then you can ensure that your wheels are pointing straight ahead in a rut, rather than just assuming they are straight because nothing is flashing up at you!

I also cannot understand why this feature is not mentioned in the manual. 2007 Baltic Blue SE TD4 Auto
