im getting wear on both front tyres just on the out side , had the alignment check all spot on .


any ideas what it might be .

If it's both tyres on the outside it's one of three things:
Alignment (too much toe-in/not enough toe-out)
Something slack in the steering allowing the wheels to move independently, although that should be checked as part of alignment
Enthusiastic cornering - the FL2 is basically a front-wheel-drive car and they always get a bit of tyre wear at the outer edges if driven hard.

If alignment's been done it's probably the third of these (as Boxbrownie said). Ex AA Series III LWB Safari - Gone

I always thought people were kidding when they said taking corners too fast would cause that kind of wear. I'm probably guilty of that and also have the wear! FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - so many issues

If wheel alignment done, full 4 wheel, just due to heavy cornering.

Rotating tyres seems to be the way to mitigate Andy

Our later Fl2 (MY2014) doesnt seem to roll in corners as much as our previous ones . I dont know if its because they put some of the Evoque suspension (struts maybe ?) on it during the models last days or its due to the 19" wheels and lower profile tyres. Jules

Just beware that swapping 'wedged' front tyres to the rear will cause droning due to the difference in diameters across the tyre width which is probably why LR don't recommend rotating tyres.

It's funny that you mention that, when I changed my last FL2 MY11 for my current MY14 XS I immediately thought that it felt different and slightly firmer somehow. I am on 17" wheels with identical tyres to previous FL2.
