[SOLD] Erde 193 trailer - extensively improved!

Total cost to buy new and then complete over last 14 months around £1,800.00 (with receipts to prove!) and many man hours! In superb condition. Stored indoors in a dry and heated warehouse when not in use. Had to buy the next size up and start all over again! Arghhh!!

The dragon stickers are easily removed if you don’t like them, but I hope that you do!

List of upgrades over standard:

1. Erde side extension (doubling the capacity of the trailer).
2. Custom fitted and yacht varnished plywood top.
3. Custom made, full depth, PVC cover. Made as a one off, by Mark at Kustom Covers, from 610g PVC (not the rubbish polyester that Erde use), with much greater waterproofing and service life, with stainless steel and brass fittings. Rear flap to allow tailgate to be opened without removing the cover.
https://www.kustom-covers.co.uk/trailer-covers-57-c.asp
4. Unnecessarily very heavy duty rear stands (because I really liked the engineering Laughing ).
5. High quality jockey wheel with pneumatic tyre.
6. Twin spares.
7. Stainless steel nose tool box.
8. Heavy duty carpet installed from new.

All ready to go in good time for the summer holiday Thumbs Up

Located in SE Cornwall, but will meet up as the extreme north east (that’ll be Taunton!) if that helps Thumbs Up

Will take a thumping great loss of £1,000.00, at £795.00 Shocked

I've been asked about the manufacturer's specifications for the trailer:

This photo shows how the trailer arrives before any money is spent on it and the important dimensions:

The unladen weight of the trailer is 160kg

It is an unbraked trailer, so the maximum legal weight is 750kg, including the weight of the trailer.

Your L405 is in the best colour that money can buy.

Quite why JLR have seen fit to drop it in favour of insipid greys and blues is anyone's guess. Probably trying to banish all memory and trace of heritage that the company ever had in favour of new, urban, trendy metrosexual types with more money than sense.... MY13 HSE Lux.......faultless since new.

Aha....I didn’t realise you let them in the RR Laughing

I had a trailer “customised” at work over 30 years ago now, proper mini wheels and tyres, aluminium top with bike rack, carried us all over France with the kids for a lot of holidays, even remember out pacing a french BMW in our Jaguar (OK embarrassing) and then remembering we had the trailer behind, decided 120+ might have been a bit fast........those where the days! Laughing

Looks a nice combo, if I see you coming I’ll move over on the A38 Thumbs Up

BTW have you noticed the multitude of speed enforcement vans sitting on the roads around here recently? Wink Regards

Oh yes, the cameras! And have you noticed that their number seems in direct proportion to how nice the weather is? Do they get to choose which days they get out of the office to sit in a van in the sunshine?

Like the story with the trailer and the Jag Thumbs Up

Clean licence for over 35 years.....only speeding was going downhill (quite steep) in a thirty and “cruised” past a police station entrance.......the bar stewards were waiting in the entrance! 35mph apparently.....who knew a 1965 rusty old mini 850 could roll that fast? Rolling Eyes

Laughing Regards

Talking about trailers
I was pulling a trailer with a mini on it along the Bodmin bypass (north bound) in about 1975/6, looked in the mirror..........no mini!

It had rolled off the back of the trailer ........(it was there when I last looked!)
Turned back in it was sitting in the road nice and straight.

The traffic was a little bit quieter then though.

Rolling with laughter
