Anyone in West midlands need Diagnostics?

As i have done with all the land rovers iv owned i have purchased diagnostic kit for my Freelander 2.
If anyone local to me needs to plug in your welcome to pm me to arrange a suitable time to meet. i'm limiting the offer to reading and clearing fault codes until i get my head around all the other functions such as Updating software etc.
I'm not doing this to make any money im doing it to help like minded individuals prepared to maintain there own vehicles.
Some other forums have a section where members register their willingness to help others with diagnostic assistance, for example D2 forum has a section called diagnostic locator. would this be an option on this forum??
If not i'm happy for the mods to make my offer a sticky>

That's very generous. Although I am not that far away, I own my own reader that is inked to my VIN. But thanks for the offer, I am sure others will take you up on your generosity. Thumbs Up

Yes, seems to work ok. My first go at that sort of thing so nothing to judge it against and not worked out what to do with the codes now I have them Laughing

Faultmate is a good bit of kit, i have used Rovacom for about 8 years made by the same company, but this time i have purchased a Nanocom evolution for the freelander again made by the same company.

Very generous RICKY64 but as I'm in Australia I can't accept your kind offer! I hope you guys in the UK can action RICKY's great idea!! As even the information posted can be useful, even to us over here Laughing Thumbs Up
I'd be very interested in hearing why you went Nanocom as I'm thinking about GAP diagnostic Iid tool. I'm probably being swayed by the analogy to just connect to my iphone so be interested to hear of any benefits to the Nanocom Thumbs Up MY15

I went for Nanocom because i have aprox 8 years expieience of dealings with Blackbox solutions the manufactures and i cant fault the support i have had from them in relation to My Rovacom equipment, for those that arnt aware Blackbox purchased the company that manufactured Nanocom a couple of years ago and have bought it on leaps and bounds. To be fair adding Can bus vehicles especially the F2 to the Nanocom is relativly new but im sure they will develope it to its full potential

That is very nice of you ricky, wish that I live near there!
I have just looked in the nanocom website and it seems there is only a NANOCOM Evolution for Freelander 2 07-12 kit, so what do you use for the newer MY13 -14?

Although Nanocom says its upto 2012 it will still do basic code reading/clearing, service resets etc on later models but wont do the reprogramming and more advanced stuff, although The teci guys at BB do have it on their to do list

A register is a great idea, preferably with a map. Another option would be to add "Scanner model(s):" to the member's profile.

In the meantime, I have a very basic MaxiScan MS309, a DVM and an iCarSoft i930 for Jaguar/Landrover. This does display fault codes from LR modules that don't appear on the MaxiScan but, annoyingly, does not show any subcodes. The realtime data streams are impressive, especially watching the MAF and pressure outputs as you rev the engine.

You are very welcome to PM me for a hook-up.

Is there anyone available in the Forest of Dean, Wye Valley area willing to do some ccf edits and possibly give me some hints on using SDD? Have got a 2014MY Freelander 2 Dynamic and V158 SDD with a genuine DA Dongle. Have found a JLR IDS SDD 154 page manual which is shedding some light but this was after I had changed the module address of my HVAC module. It now need module number changing to be able to calibrate the vent motors and re-establish comms for the HVAC module. Have it booked in for Monday but would like to gain control of future diagnostics.
