IMO you're more likely to understeer through a Hedge due to worn front tyres than induce oversteer due to worn rear tyres. And these cars have a very good DSC to counteract any oversteer anyway. Best tyres on the steering, driving and most braking end. MY13 Santorini Black SD4 HSE |

Snow chains go on the front because the FL2 is basically a front wheel drive car. They also help it to steer round corners. I see where many of the above posters are coming from, but it seems to me that the AA and tyre manufacturers are more likely to have the correct answer. Like most owners, I swap my tyres front to back in order to keep tread wear even, and then if necessary change all four at a go, although as I put the Wintrax on for half the year my tyres tend to last as long as I keep the car - 46000 miles on my DS and the original tyres still have 5mm all round, having only done about two thirds of that. Should last until I trade it in next winter. Ex AA Series III LWB Safari - Gone 300TDi Disco (bought new - terrible car) sent back after 18 months Freelander 1 Estate - leased, given back at end of lease 200TDi Disco (bought from a mate with 100,000 on the clock) - Gone Disco 2 TD5 - sold and exported to France FR2 TD4 GS - Gone FR2 SD4 HSE - Now changed for a DS New model ex-demo Evoque S 180 in white Unable to order a new DS, so gave up. Now have a Volvo S90 Recharge. |

I did a 15 mins internet/U-tube search and could not find a single recommendation for putting new tyres on the front.
