I've got a warning triangle and an army surplus folding shovel beside my spare wheel (digging myself out, digging bogs or doing away with caravaners) and in the glove compartment I've got a cheapish multitool, head torch and rag.

Must remember to get a 10mm spanner and spare bulbs.

The space round my spare wheel is also filled with necessary junk similar to that others have mentioned (where else is there) - but the best drive in the world has not got a hideaway compartment for camera/Dior leather jacket/telescope and tripod/other expensive looking stuff etc. like on the BMW reversed mounted spare wheel, soft-felt lined compartment for valuables.

Is that under seat storage area in all Freelander 2's? Or is it something that is only on recent model year vehicles?

I've thought about this storage issue. I have one of these boot bags, which I keep stuff for work, along with some offroading bits, torches etc. Then I keep some blankets, golves and stuff in the wheel well.



I've always fancied something like this, so I could securely store stuff, and also keep the boot looking clear/free, but my worry is losing too much space, getting access to the spare, without massive problems, and that if you need to load the boot, and drop the back seats, you wouldn't get the flat floor. It's back to the drawing board to come up with an easy to use solution,for good storage, but doesn't use too much space, or is easily removable.

cloth type bottle carrier (sorry, French again)
first aid kit
not had a rattle yet.

ps - just got new Wranglers fitted at British Rubber located in the old Baildon station buildings excellent prices.

If you're A Broad (sorry on the continent) then you might want to keep the hi-viz vests in sight. It's the sort of that the plods over here like. So just use cloth to pack the tools.
