looking for a Freelander2 and open to a wide choice of which year 2010-2013

no doubt the newer it is the more miles it will have done per year, have looked at a dealers 2014 with 135k for £8k

Like to buy pvt as hopefully its then still in use and running well with the added benefit of the Forum and maintained well

(regular on D3 and RRS and even started on D5 now )

spec wise: I like the leather/alcantara or full leather, electric adjustable seat (gives more adjustment) towbar,
must have cruise, probably manual box, dont want satnav or sunroof.
nice would be heated seats and heated front screen

To give an idea Iaint's car that has just been sold sounded good

Price wise I have a look at wbac for worse case but more like landrovers p/ex value as a better guide

I am looking locally at both pvt and dealers
Considering going for a look at a dealers, 2013/91k/leather/towbar at £8750 but its an auto and not sure

Don't dismiss an auto they suit the Fl2 well , if you can an Sd4 would be a good choice.

Auto is the way to go.

Auto SD4 is the way to go, plenty of power and torque and the auto box is well suited and durable. So that narrows it to 2011> models. Go for the best compromise between age and mileage, the newer the better dependant on mileage

for what you have listed as preferences the XS spec would suit most likely however the only major difference between XS and HSE would be the sunroof IMO and maybe full leather.

would not rule out an auto and had thought the SD4 would have had more of price premium but having a look on autotrader it seems not so TD4 more likely manual and SD4 auto

had a look at a dealers car today £7495 for a 2011 GS 106k leather/acantara, heated seats and screen, new clutch and waterpump, belt done and he said "it needed nothing" we were talking discount as No p/ex of £500,
but that was until I pointed out it needed a full set of tyres, front and rear discs and pads, a spare wheel he was back up to £7495 I was still at £7000 or £6300 as it was, it was a No.

SD4 Auto suits FL2, be aware 2013 models onwards were updated with most of the Evoque improvements to electronics and running gear, and I believe are the best.

Warning FL2 is quite a complicated vehicle, so be sure that it has a good history and warranty. FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011)

Have had a look at a few now, mainly at dealers, couple of Pvt ones, looking like black leather or black leather/alcantara and must have cruise so not an "S"

a Silver 2013 with epb is looking promising its just going for an MOT

A late Sd4 GS will meet all your spec requirements with the exception of front seat arm rests. I'm very pleased with mine. As above the auto is fantastic and it's a great tow car. Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948
