Is it me or has anyone else noticed a drop in mpg with all this cold weather.

I'm loosing about 8mpg at the moment  ______________________

I have notice about 8mpg too, driving to work at 20mpg is not fun

Goes to its normal 32mpg on the motorway though, (the engine is warm by this time) Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

I have begun to use 2-stroke oil, and estimated that consumption would fall, but it has risen. Mine's not doing as well as I'd like of late. On long runs, and driving pretty carefully, I don't achieve much better that 35mpg (it's a manual). In autumn, doing similar runs, It was nearer 40mpg. I put it down to engine mapping firmware changes when it went in for some minor issues sorting, but perhaps that coincided with colder weather?

Fuel economy of the Freelys seem terrible when they are cold. down to 12 mpg when cold up to 45mpg once the engine sits in its half way mark. Its the cold start ups that will draw the average down to around 32mpg.

Yup, must admit I've noticed that the economy is horrendous in this weather.

I'm thinking the cold engine combined with that PTC heater thing is just eating fuel. 09MY FL2 Td4 XS, Style Pack, Privacy Glass, Martinique Blue.. oh so very blue..

So, could this be because we've all had the PTC preheat modification recently, and not the weather? When did everyone have the work done?

Today ive driven 170 miles (about 130 of it on motorway) in a courtesy FL2 manual with the temp at -3 degrees and still got 42mpg!!!!

Hmmm... What was your average speed - mortorway/urban?
If I try average 70mph I'll only get a little over 30mpg. I'm sure there's something amiss with mine.

You lot must have lead boots to lose that kinda mpg No change to my mpg and before you ask i do use all the gears

Yes, I think the difference between auto and manual seems to be in the order of 6mpg. I'm a little concerned as I seem to be getting auto economy from a manual
In December, it had an ECU firmware 'upgrade'. Before that I was getting near 40mpg on a run - now, driving uber-careful I peak at 36mpg. I'm thinking it's more firmware than weather in my case, but how do you tell??
