England 2008 Freelander 2 TD4 XS Auto Stornoway Grey
Turbo removal

How do I remove the turbo
Should I take the hole exhaust manifold off
Or just the 3 bolts, they very hard to get to 2008 xs
Snorkel
raised axle/gearbox breathers
Mantec tank guard
Cb radio
Blanked EGR
Sump guard
Scratches
Snolkle

It may be easier to access if you remove the engine firewall.
In that way you can easily access from above the EGR and the turbo below.

United Kingdom 2012 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Manual Firenze Red

The firewall is what we would in the UK call the bulkhead. There is a removable panel at the bulkhead(behind the sound deadening) that when removed greatly improves access to the rear of the engine. Having said that it still looks to be a nightmare to get at the turbo! Big Cry

JLR manual says remove EGR cooler unit and then catalytic converter before removing the turbo. Jules

Mine is diesel, 2088 is petrol.
But I believe that chunk of metal is the same between models... Laughing
