thats the 2.0 Si4, as used in the Evoque petrol as well and possibly some of the early DS in different sales regions.

it was never officially available in UK even if it was special order, heaven only knows why as by all accounts its a brilliant engine if not economical.
I can only guess its in part due to the insistence of the government that Diesel was the best thing ever.... the same diesel that is now being demonized by the same governments.

A couple of years ago a dealer near Oxford, James French, had about 6 RHD FL2 Si4 HSE which had been registered and passed for use in the UK. They had originally been intended for export use but the order not completed.

Yes my understanding was the Si4 Turbo (ie the Ford EcoBoost engine) was never available in the UK in the FL2 only the later Ecroak and DS.

I am amazed the factory let a few out for registration, they would have had to be homologated for Europe/UK and that’s an awful lot of cost/work for just a few specials.

If they were late models I’d love to bag one of those. Regards

David

I requested debadging before signing on the dotted line as I couldn't face trying to clean around 17 letters! Having had various sport cars ending with zeros I decided debadging was the way to go as cleaning was a pain. And having had a classic 500 SL debadged meant great fun meeting an underpowered SL poser at the lights or roundabout. All the FL2s have the same engine, owners know the difference, the general public don't care and car cleaning time is so much shorter.

Left over days when, Ford, owned JLR. Ford loved badges in the 80s and were a complete pain to clean. It was the only reason I de-badged. I keep thinking I should take the front off as well.
