My Old 2014 XS...

.... doesn't seem to have a new owner yet.

Is it wrong to be sad that it's unloved and on a forecourt.... Sad

Traded it in for a new DS in December.

no not sad, although I must admit I always check to see what my old cars go up for sale at and see what profit the dealer is making.
having just traded my Evoque Coupe in for my current FL2, the Evoque sold in a week but then the dealer wasn't being greedy and I was happy with the trade in vs forecourt prices

I don't know if anyone else has spotted this but have been watching a few TV series recently and the baddies all seem to drive Range Rovers these days. I have even seen them in some US productions.

(in defining baddies I also include Theresa May's protection cars Very Happy ) 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto
5 x FL2 4 manual + 1 auto
Now Discovery Sport P250 MHEV SE

No it's not wrong to be sad - I've always hated parting with a car (maybe why not many have come and gone with me)

Sure the dealers add doesn't help - almost as many photos trying to sell finance or saying about a quick turn around time etc as there are of the actual car!! Andrew

Thanks folks - made me feel better that! Very Happy

You are right @smallmankey - the ad is rubbish!

I actually traded it in at Farnell Nelson (good, helpful dealer btw) for just under £10k. Farnell have obviously moved it on rather than retail it themselves - I guess the miles were a bit high at 93k for Land Rover Approved status. Not a bad price I thought for a decent motor.

Rolling with laughter

Sadly we don't have an Outback to play in in Lancashire!

I checked the MOT history of a few of the cars my wife and I have parted with. Found it quite sad to see how some of them had deteriorated with various fails and warnings over the years. FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - so many issues
2019 DS. Terribly unreliable.
Sold DS for a 2021 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. Fingers crossed....
Sold Outlander for a 2014 SD4 SE Tech because I’m mental
Now greatly regret selling the Outlander. MPG of the FL2 is atrocious and so are the fuel bills. Fun though 😎
Couldn’t afford the fuel bills so back to an older Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. Significantly better than I remembered it to be…

seems like you got a good trade in price then as they aren't making much profit on that price. Although its all relative to what profit Farnell made on the DS and then again by selling your FL2 out to the smaller trade outlet

I was really pleased with the deal at Farnell Nelson, there was no mucking about - just straight to a sensible offer over the phone. I tried 3 other dealers and none came anywhere close. 2019 Discovery Sport Landmark in Corris Grey
2014 FL2 XS TD4 Manual - Gone at 93k miles - great car.

That's what its all about, if your happy with the deal regardless of figures then dealer sell on prices are irrelevant.

My Evoque would probably have had new tyres put on all round (3mm front 4mm rear) and new rear pads before they sold it on, plus the MOT. So there is 5-600 quid straight away. Plus the cost of the valet and the warranty they put on it. so that's another 4-500 quid. They sold it on for approximately 3k more than I part ex it for, so maybe made 2k profit on it. Sounds a lot, but add into that staff wages involved in prepping and selling it and brings it down further and they are a business needing to make profit.
Either way I was happy with the deal. Very Happy

yep, and quite a rare one by the looks of it... ive only found about 4 Sport LE including mine with the same Dynamic Black/Ivory interior, and Dynamic wheels.
All the other sports seemed to only have the Black seats with the thin black, red or white stripe down the middle and standard door/dash trim.

I wasn't a fan at all of the Ivory door handles so they are now piano black, but the ivory dash trim is gradually winning me over.

No at all. I was pleased to see that my 19 year old TD5 Discovery still had a valid MOT and VED.
