None of these items should get sludged up though, be pretty alarming if they did.

Thought the breather systems on these engines was prone to getting a bit dirty? I read that the BMW engines on the FL1 were prone to spitting out the oil dipstick along with the engine contents. Maybe no issue on the FL2?

Anyway now I've found the location for the crankcase oil separator I think I'll be leaving well alone....I seem to be slowly dismantling the whole engine Smile 2010 FL2 TD4 GS

Sorry if I sounded condescending, but if you would have taken the service manual from here on forum and studied it a little, you would have understood what I've meant...
Real help (from where the picture above is taken and available for all to see): www.freel2.com/forum/topic31156.html

PS1: Sorry for my English...
PS2: Indeed, the joint venture between Ford and PSA resulted in the Ford Duratorq brand name, but better searched for PSA 2.2 HDI engine, than Ford Duratorq engine. More info on the net that way.

No need to appologise. Indeed I have downloaded the workshop manual and am slowing working through the massive PDF document to break it in to smaller parts that can be indexed and therefore easier to use.

Thanks for the tip on the Ford/PSA engine! 2010 FL2 TD4 GS
