Are you sure you really want side steps ? You can get tube ones which, IMO, look better than the flat plates ones on a Freelander - maybe cheaper too.

Hi Jules, thanks for the reply. Definitely side steps were after as I have a 4 and a 5 year old and the steps will make it much easier for them gettin in and out 😊 |

We fitted Britparts ones to my sons 07 XS very good quality for about £240 IIRC , Not too bad to fit, the only problem was the Riv Nuts that you fit on the inner sills

Don’t think you would be too bothered about ground clearance if you’ve got a dynamic as your ground clearance is reduced anyway with the body styling pack. MY14 Kahn Converted Dynamic - Fuji White Ebony/Pimento Interior MY15 Xenon Headlight Conversion MY17 RRS SVR - Estoril Blue Cirrus/Ebony 🪣💺’s |

When we first got our FL2 a month or so ago the side steps were not even attached, the rivets holding them to the brackets had rotted through, how we got 300 miles home with them falling off was a miracle.....anyhoo my point is I obviously had to take them off as we thought they slightly impeded ingress/egress as your legs brush against them, so I was going to ditch them but after taking them off and seeing the FL on the drive it honestly looked, well...bare or maybe a bit feeble, so I got to work repairing the steps and refitted, and TBH the car looks better with them on, I understand it’s a subjective thing but to us they give the FL a bit more “umphh”.

I have them for my 88 year old aunt to help her into the car. I do minor off road on farm tracks etc but never had a problem with them at all. I like the look also they give. Only issue is that they are annodised aluminium on the edges & trying to clean the dirt off is almost impossible, looks ground in & washing alone don't get it off. I am reluctant to use polish type cleaners in case it damages the matt finish. |

I was worried about the annodised finish when I was cleaning mine before reinstalling, but I used Bilthamber cleaner (just a very good universal cleaner) and a mild abrasive pad (white rough dishwashing sponge, so not really abrasive in the "automotive" sense) and they came up lovely.
