Exhaust Centre Box - Freelander 2 3.2 (Petrol) - Plus

Arguably this could go in the 'For Sale/Wanted' but my question is a bit broad.

Specifically - my 'new' 07 Freelander (3.2 Petrol) has turned into a boy racer car and developed what I can only call a 'low level bass farting noise'.

Thankfully (?) this has turned out to be a swiss cheesed exhaust centre box (thanks to my local Indy garage).

Questions :

1. Does anyone know where I might be able to, quickly as I have to be using it this weekend, get hold of one of those (and possibly the associated parts) - I think it's part number LR041950 perhaps. Ideally less than the £280+Vat I'm currently being guestimated at for just the part.

The reason I ask is that I keep on stumbling across so-called Landrover parts suppliers that have less than positive reputations so I thought I'd check in for a recommendation first.

I've also found a sub £100 version that says it 'supercedes' LR041950 but i don't want to order something to find out 'supercedes' translates to 'doesn't fit'. I'm used to Jap 4x4's where there's usually a cheaper (and just as robust) alternative part to the OEM one.

2. I happen to have been getting error codes P0174 (System too lean bank 1) and P0171 (System too lean bank 2) intermittently before 'boy racer farting' began. Is it possible that the dying exhaust was causing the error codes? I've already cleaned and re-cleaned the MAF (MAS?) sensor thing.

Try Bearmatch if you don’t want to pay LR prices, oddly I have been looking today as my (new to me) i6 rear silencer is a bit
Flaky around the Edges” and upon searching the inter web found Bearmatch are very competitive, and I know they have been doing LR bits for years. Regards

David

Lovely i6 has now gone, but not me......

Please let me know if anything in my post offends you, as I may wish to offend you again......

Good recommendation - on the phone to them now (though sourcing gasket number LR001816 seems to be my next challenge). Had a look under there, got to keep my fingers crossed that they'll be able to cut the old exhaust off otherwise it'll be a replacement Cat as well. Insane how much rust there is in there.
