The stop start in most cases is very hit or miss in operation. In order to work at all there are loads of conditions and parameters that have to be met including battery charge, battery load , outside temp ,engine temp etc. Members have reported that their stop start will not work for weeks on end, then suddenly start working again for no apparent reason. Others will say its not worth having for the small saving on fuel versus the extra wear to starter and ring gear. My own thoughts are if it`s fitted to the car then it should work. It might be worth giving your battery a charge as low battery voltage is a very common reason for the stop start playing up and is listed as a reason for the engine automatically restarting after an autostop. Good luck! |

Just switch it off once you start the engine as the savings on fuel is minimal compared to a worn out starter motor, battery, flywheel etc. |
