Black 19" evoque style 5

New addition to the car, been a long time wanting these but I finally did it and couldn't be happier, completely changed the look of the car.

Had them fully refurbished and powdered satin black. Black centre caps sitting waiting to be fitted.

Looks good. Thumbs Up

Have you got the front grill in black ..... if not, reckon that's the ideal next project, to blend it all in. Wink FL2 now gone and have a couple of items left for sale:-

Brodit active iPhone holder + Brodit dash clip,
Bluetooth Music Streaming Module.

That is exactly what's happening next. I have the pre facelift so have been toying with the idea of buying either the facelift or hst bumper.. not sure if it's worth it though to be honest.

Hello,

Sorry for picking up a slightly dated thread but I am intending to get my HST’s shadow alloys painted satin black soon exactly as you have done. Yours look great, so more encouragement for me!

Did you paint and refurb these yourself or get an alloy specialist to do them? Either way, what did the cost end up at approximately, if I may ask please? With 3+ coats primer, paint, lacquer etc. likely needed as well as the previous owner’s kerbing I am thinking it will end up quite time consuming and expensive to do myself anyway.

Thank you. Freelander 2 HST

Sawood, I see you're in Coventry. If you fancy a trip to Birmingham city centre, there's a firm there that I use to powdercoat my wheels. I've used them several times and they only charge £20 a rim, due to their massive turnover. City Wheel Refurbishment. You just take your wheels in and they give you a call when they're done. I highly recommend them.

No probs. They were professionally done, blasted, chips filled then powder coated. The finish is awesome and completely changes the look of the vehicle. I paid around £60 per alloy, which is normal where I live. If you can get them done well for £20 per that's a steal. We'll worth the money imo.

Thanks both. What an excellent recommendation. I think I’ll go for their £50 (19”) drive-in same-day service since it saves me having to keep it on stands, multiple trips, and rebalancing.

Transfer box and shocks first though... priorities!

Will let you know how they turn out. Freelander 2 HST

Same-day service from City Wheel Refurbishment, thanks for the recommendation! They do 150 wheels day Shocked

Really pleased with the result. Always wanted a car with a set of black wheels. Freelander 2 HST

The black wheels do suit a grey car, I quite fancy a set of this style Evoque wheels done in black or shadow grey:-
