My FL put on its EML light for a bit yesterday then went off again. Ran a diagnostic it and gave me code P02E5 problem with throttle body.
I took it off to inspect and sure enough like others the gear has stripped. I can see why the butterfly takes some force to open!

Car seems to run just fine though.

Can only find BMW gear repair kits on ebay. Would have though some one would have done a FR one looking at how many fail!
Is there any point in buying genuine to replace? Is there any other car manufactures using same one?

Its the cog attached to the butterfly that's damaged and is a fixed item so whole new throttle body

That’s a shame
The other cog is easy to get
