[Wanted] FL2 Bonnet on Stornoway Grey

Hi all, a long shot, but I am looking for an FL2 bonnet in Stornoway Grey please.

Needs to be free from rust and major chips, (unlike the one I currently have, which is structurally sound but needs some attention).

The ideal is someone who’s breaking, or about to PX and their bonnet condition is immaterial! Smile

I am only looking for one in the correct colour as I fear a decent respray cost will defeat the point of me swapping the bonnet in the first place.

Thank you. Freelander 2 HST

See Ebay item eBay Item No. 254167132115. It`s what your looking for but will involve a couple of hundred miles round trip to get it!. No connection to the seller. Good luck! Thumbs Up

Thanks! Actually been in touch with that chap already but he couldn’t commit to stating it’s free from rust, so it’s too far for me to travel without that assurance. He says condition is ‘subjective’ which is true but rust/no-rust is pretty unequivocal to me!

Last thing I need is a massive round trip and a bonnet which may have the same issue as mine (dubious rust marks around letter R in the listing photo). Freelander 2 HST

Since when did Freelander 2's start to 'Rust' ...... Never seen one rust.

Now the Freelander 1's were galvanized dipped and 'couldn't rust' unless you abused it or it was crashed. Interestingly replacement panels came in brown primer Crying or Very sad

Yeah, it’s nasty. No idea what the previous owner was doing with it but the rest of the body seems free of any salt/water damage.

You can see the bubbling right across the front edge, and two rust patches symmetrically either side. Along with a couple of deep gouges. Must be water ingress from underneath to be bubbling too. By the time I’ve repaired all that I think I could have bought another bonnet.
