Suggestions of where to buy F1 tickets.

As above, I'm thinking of going to see the Monaco F1 this year. There seems to be so many places online selling tickets and I don't want to get there only to find out that I've been sold duds. Any suggestions/past experience? Hoping to fly out and come back same day. Any advice on this trip would be welcome. Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

Can you not get a full package eg flights, hotel & F1 tickets via someone like Expedia?
That way it's their responsibility in providing you with all the guarantees you need. FL2 now gone and have a couple of items left for sale:-

Brodit active iPhone holder + Brodit dash clip,
Bluetooth Music Streaming Module.

When I was working I was once asked if I would be available to give a talk at a conference. I said where and the reply was "Oh it's in Monte Carlo, we will helicopter you in from Nice Airport and put you up in the Hotel de Paris opposite the Casino". It took me nearly 2 seconds to check my diary and reply casually "yes I think I can manage that week". Shocked

Actually your biggest problem will be finding accommodation for the F1 weekend. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

I went to the F1 in Monaco in 2016, it was 'big' birthday present from my daughters. Tickets for the Thurs/Sat and Sun.
I drove over as I was doing a tour of the south of France anyway. Key is to book an apartment in St Raphael area, then train it into Monaco, car parking is very poor for a Land Rover with roof top bed. Mad

But after my daughters had spent Euro 100's to get me a seat for each day ........... only to find youngsters (in their 20's) offering 'hospitality' tickets for sale (cash) for a tenth of my tickets face value. !! Rolling Eyes
I was seated near the Swimming Pool area, good view and Mega Screens positioned around to watch the bit of the race you can't see.

All in all a good weekend, good atmosphere, despite the weather ....... as the race was started under safety car Sad

I watch all races on the TV .......... you just get to see more of the race.

Would I go to a live race again .............. maybe NOT !

Thumbs Up

I went to Silverstone to see an F1 race a few years ago and found that I spent most of the time watching the big screen opposite as the cars went past so fast that you couldn't see anything. Then I realised that what was on the screen was exactly what I would see at home so not much point in going really. There is the other issue of course, that F1 has become so predictable that all I do now is watch the third qualifying session and that will give you the final podium position in 90% of the races unless something goes wrong. It's not really racing anymore. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

I was thinking of flying to Nice and getting the train - early flight out, late flight home on the day. Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

Trains are VERY VERY busy on race day. I drove to railway station to take the 07:30 train to get into Monaco, even then the place was full. It takes a while to find your seat.
After the race the police install 'crowd' control stall restrictions. this allows both passengers and trains to arrive at station together, less time on the platforms .......... then away. Return trains RAM'ed. !!

To do flight / train / race / train / flight ..... home in a day ........ GOOD LUCK. Rolling Eyes

Hmmm. Thanks. Worth thinking about. Perhaps I might start looking at a late Saturday flight and stoping over in Nice then get up at 6.00 and get in the queue for the train. Do you have to buy train tickets in advance? Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

Best bet is send swmbo off on a weekend with the girls.
Get the beers in, have a few mates around and have a themed 'Monaco F1' BBQ weekend and watch practise 3, qualifying & the race all on a huge TV screen.... with the volume up.
You can get pished, you've got a loo close by, you go to & wake up in your own bed ... and you don't have the time & hassle of actually going there ...... and you save loads of cash.

Been to Silverstone a few times, but still prefer staying at home watching it on the big TV screen with a couple of beers.
Plus you can follow the actual racing much easier (and Monaco will be the usual procession). Thumbs Up FL2 now gone and have a couple of items left for sale:-

My wife and I are both big f1 fans but we've never yet been to a race. We had our honeymoon in Monaco and it's a beautiful place to be and see the sights but I just don't think I'd like to go for an f1 weekend. The atmosphere admittedly would be fantastic but the crowds and the restricted view of the race would spoil it fo me. I'd much rather do the Belgian or Italian GPs. Having said that don't let anyone spoil what will be a wonderful trip. Hope you have a great time! Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

I know it must be chaos there, I’ve been to Monaco three times before. Once when on a cruise in 2009 but they had the Tour de France there so most of the course was closed off. I went there once a couple of weeks before the GP on a motorcycle trip hoping to follow the course but they had other stuff going on (historic F1 cars) so I went back the following year two weeks after the GP and they were still packing away most of the course! It must be a mammoth task setting up a street circuit. Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto
