Tranmission Fault Traction Reduced

Popular topic in relation to the common fault message, 'Transmission Fault Traction Reduced' Looking for some advice.
After reading the mail threads on this topic, 'Haldex' issues seem to be the fix however after servicing the Haldex & replacing the Haldex Pump filter/transmission oil, the error message continues. ECU perfect. Battery 2 months old.

Like other, I can get 20/30 miles before the message appears.

What I have noticed is that the message only displays once I press the brake pedal! I have also tried gently lifting the handbrake to decelerate and again the message is displayed. I plan to replace the Brake Light Switch just to rule this out. Although handbrake/foot pedal are not connected, I understand the Brake Light Switch can throw up faults.

My callipers, pads and disk are months old so no issues there.

Checked the Haldex fuse in the boot and all good.

Could this be a simple balancing and tracking issue? Or perhaps ABS? All 4 tyres are 12 months/8K miles old, same pressure and manufacture/style.

I loose 'Special Programs' as well and the vehicle turns 2WD. Apart from that, drives perfectly with the fault message.

Running out of ideas.

Read the Haldex fault codes and start from there.
That message on dash is the result of a trouble code stored inside Haldex ECU.

In the last year or so one member found a wire had chaffed through near the Haldex / Back Axle giving irregular fault messages. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

Broken wires at the back diff are very common

Blocked haldex filters and weak/failing pumps are also quite common

Correct course of action should be to have a diagnostic plug in done, and read any fault codes. Then we can decide where the efforts to repair should be concentrated Thumbs Up
