Our 2011 Freelander came with only 1 Fob, not really surprising I guess as it is a Jap import. Got a quote from the local "stealer" (love that term) of $538.10 plus GST (15%) so did some research and bought 2 fobs from ebay for $52.72 inc postage from this seller https://www.ebay.com.au/usr/keyecu2013

What is the "emergency key" that is referred to here? I just bought my Freelander a few days ago (also a Japanese import), it also only has one key thingy and I'm actually scared to lock it because the remote is unreliable and I can't see any option! |

There’s a key pulls out from the fob and works in the passenger side door when the plastic cover is removed. |

That's so cryptic! But it works. Thank you very much. |
