Try a good spray with GT 85 or similar down the window side (use the straw it comes with) and any other holes near the door locks. You never know your luck it may ease off. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

sounds like a good idea, I feel its not much of a fault as it always (up to now), can eventually be locked, worst case is 4th attempt , but like I said jiggling the dash unlock/lock buttons then locking seems to work first time.

I had problems with my rear passenger door lock on my last freelander. Not always unlocking or locking. Took the door card off and give it a good battering with silicone oil using the straw and over the next week or 2 it was working fine again. MY13 HSE LUX Aintree Green

Sounds like the same problem I had - I replaced the locking mechanism:

thanks for all the input, don't have GT85, tried a blast of WD40 without straw on door mechanism. Then tested the door, it opened and closed and locked 8 consecutive times, no problem, so hoping that's perhaps done the trick. |

WD40 dries out after freeing off hence you need a spray with both qualities. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

I ordered the part and am giving this job a go, I am at the point where you detach the window from the mechanism, having watched the youtube videos etc.

Its quite a while since I replaced the rear lock but I seem to think there was two yellow clips. I followed the instructions on here lower the window and you should get access via the speaker hole. |

The clip has a lip on the top just push or pull it forward and push the glass up as the same time |
